bioelectrochemical system captures carbon dioxide in enclosed spaces and bio-converts it into methane, a renewable energy carrier. This innovative system is composed by two coupled modules:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>An<strong> adsorption module<\/strong> (~20x30x30 cm) that captures CO<sub>2 <\/sub>and reduces indoor CO<sub>2<\/sub> levels up to recommended values (&lt;1000 ppm, 0.1%).<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>bioelectrochemical module<\/strong> where archaea convert the captured CO<sub>2<\/sub> into high purity methane (&gt; 95%) using surplus energy. \u00a0The required H<sub>2<\/sub> is obtained in situ by means of water electrolysis.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5>Applications<\/h5>\n<p>The bioelectrochemical system can be installed in enclosed spaces with high concentrations of carbon dioxide, such as offices, classrooms or public transport vehicles. It improves indoor air quality and produces biomethane with network quality standards.<\/p>\n<h5>Competitive benefits<\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li>Portable, compact, modular<\/li>\n<li>Adaptable to different indoor scenarios (residential, commercial, transport)<\/li>\n<li>Low energy.
