Aquesta tasca \u00e9s cada vegada m\u00e9s complexa a causa dels canvis ambientals, la variabilitat clim\u00e0tica, la pressi\u00f3 humana sobre els recursos h\u00eddrics i unes normatives cada cop m\u00e9s exigents, especialment pel que fa als subproductes que es poden formar durant la desinfecci\u00f3. Per fer-hi front, les plantes han d\u2019adaptar cont\u00ednuament el seu funcionament i prendre decisions basades en una gran quantitat d\u2019informaci\u00f3. En aquest context, aquesta tesi se centra en el desenvolupament d\u2019eines que ajudin a millorar la gesti\u00f3 del tractament de l\u2019aigua mitjan\u00e7ant l\u2019\u00fas de dades i coneixement del proc\u00e9s. El treball s\u2019ha realitzat en el marc d\u2019un doctorat industrial amb Figueres de Serveis S.A. (FISERSA), prenent com a cas d\u2019estudi l\u2019estaci\u00f3 de tractament d\u2019aigua potable de Figueres. La recerca combina experiments de laboratori, an\u00e0lisi de dades i aplicaci\u00f3 directa a planta amb l\u2019objectiu de reduir els riscos qu\u00edmics i microbiol\u00f2gics associats a la producci\u00f3 d\u2019aigua potable. El principal resultat de la tesi \u00e9s el desenvolupament i la validaci\u00f3 a escala real d\u2019un sistema intel\u00b7ligent per ajustar la dosi d\u2019oz\u00f3 de manera adaptativa. Aquest sistema utilitza senyals que es poden mesurar en temps real, com l\u2019absorb\u00e0ncia a 254 nm i la temperatura de l\u2019aigua, per adaptar el proc\u00e9s d\u2019oxidaci\u00f3 a les condicions canviants de la mat\u00e8ria org\u00e0nica natural. Els resultats mostren que aquest sistema permet mantenir un bon rendiment del tractament, reduir el consum de reactius i evitar la generaci\u00f3 excessiva de compostos que poden afavorir el creixement bacteri\u00e0. A m\u00e9s d\u2019aquest sistema ja validat, la tesi planteja el desenvolupament de dos m\u00f2duls addicionals: un orientat a avaluar el risc qu\u00edmic associat a la formaci\u00f3 de subproductes de desinfecci\u00f3, i un altre centrat en el risc microbiol\u00f2gic, basat en indicadors de mat\u00e8ria org\u00e0nica biodegradable i de possibles rebrots bacterians. Aquests m\u00f2duls constitueixen la base d\u2019un futur sistema de suport a la decisi\u00f3 que permeti una gesti\u00f3 m\u00e9s integrada i informada del tractament de l\u2019aigua. En conjunt, aquesta tesi contribueix a connectar el coneixement cient\u00edfic amb la pr\u00e0ctica operativa de les plantes de tractament d\u2019aigua.
