The PhD candidate will develop and optimize microbial electrochemical technologies (METs) for decentralized greywater treatment, indoor carbon dioxide capture, and biological carbon dioxide conversion into renewable methane at building scale. The work will include reactor design, operation under realistic household conditions, microbiome and material characterization, data analysis, and the validation of integrated HOUSEMET systems in real-use pilot environments.
