The Summer School of the European Membrane Society 2026 will take place at the University of Girona (Spain) and is organized under the umbrella of the Spanish Research Network on Membrane Science and Technology for Water Treatment (MEMBRANET). This network, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU) through the State Research Agency (AEI), is coordinated by the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and brings together 11 research groups from 7 universities and 3 research centers across Spain.
Course Objectives
This Summer School is aimed at postgraduate students and early career professionals seeking advanced training in membrane science and membrane-based water treatment processes. The program offers a strong scientific foundation in membrane engineering, with a special focus on key filtration processes—including microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and reverse osmosis—combined with practical insights into their real-world implementation in water treatment systems.
Participants will gain hands-on laboratory experience, working on experimental setups aligned with their research interests and learning how to design, operate, and evaluate membrane systems. To ensure high-quality practical sessions and small-group work, registration is limited to 30 participants.
