GiroNat is a shared project city, lasting and demonstrative, that boosts biodiversity and ecological infrastructure as the backbone of a 180º twist towards urban re-naturalization, converting Girona into a greener, more resilient, and healthier city. The project proposes 1) a Strategic twist by promoting the first Re-naturalization Integrated Strategy, 2) a Twist towards nature by increasing, improving, and connecting green and blue infrastructure, 3) a Twist towards resiliency with the cross-cutting application of nature-based solutions, 4) a Twist towards preventive health improving habitability and use of natural infrastructure as a health asset, 5) a Twist towards social transformation by guaranteeing equal use and access, and by contributing to a city with more environmentally and social justice, and 6) a Twist towards innovation thanks to the co-generation of knowledge, shared governance, integration of good practices and transferability of results.
